This hymn, Stella Caeli, is doing the rounds of the blogosphere – said to stem from the Sisters of the Monastery of Santa Clara in Coimbra, Portugal, during the plague in 1317. We’re planning to sing it this Sunday.
Fr Z suggested combining it with the Litany of Our Lady, so I’ve arranged it into a 4 page booklet.
And I’ll even sing it for you:
Download it here: Stella Caeli.mp3
For those wizards who use Gregorio to typeset their own booklets, here is the link to the hymn on Gregobase.
UPDATE: It has come to my attention that the version above may have a typo. The Cantuale Romano-Seraphicum from 1951 has one note different, which makes it a little easier to sing, in my humble opinion. I’ve updated the version above. The earlier mistaken copy is here and booklet form here in case it helps.
