I was interested to notice them singing Plainsong in octaves—that is, women and men together. For myself, I do not sing Plainsong like that. We either have the ladies sing or the men sing. This shows the diversity of legitimate approaches to Plainsong. When folks come to the Sacred Music Symposium they will be taught a variety of methods, but never by saying: This is the only way to do it, and if you disagree you’re evil.
