AST YEAR I WROTE about a couple of fantastic retreats which took place in January this year. Now a special new release CD links those two retreats.
The Australian Sacred Music Association retreat took place over a week encompassing the feast of the Epiphany. It was a silent retreat with a focus on singing the Divine Office and the Mass. The recordings from the week have been compiled into a 34 track CD.
The other retreat I mentioned was lead by Fr Pius Mary Noonan and Fr John OSB. In February Fr Pius inaugurated a new Benedictine foundation in Tasmania. This island has been short of traditional liturgies for decades, so this is very good news.
The recordings from the former retreat form a fundraiser for the new foundation from the monks of the latter retreat.

P.S. Pugin fans will appreciate this link between Tasmania and Augustus Pugin and these photos of St Patrick’s, Coledale where the first Solemn Mass in over a hundred years was celebrated in February this year.
