NE of the most important organizations involved in the work of liturgical reform is finding new life and expanding into new territories. You might say that Adoremus, which bills itself as a “Society for the Renewal of the Sacred Liturgy,” is, itself, experiencing renewal.
When Helen Hull Hitchcock died in October 2014, an enormous void was left in the organization, as she was a person in possession of remarkable experience and ability. As we reported at that time, the group decided to take a hiatus in order to regroup and plan for the future. It seems that this strategy has paid dividends.
Under the capable new leadership of Christopher Carstens, Adoremus has developed a revamped website that features a more modern design, the opportunity to subscribe digitally to the Adoremus Bulletin, and better organization of its valuable archive of articles.
Additionally, the organization has launched a comprehensive social media presence (Facebook, Twitter, Feed). The Adoremus Bulletin has also undergone an update in its appearance. The past several issues, however, prove that one thing has not changed: the Bulletin’s content remains of the same high quality for which it has always been known.
In addition to editing the Adoremus Bulletin, Carstens is a faculty member at the Liturgical Institute at Mundelein and director of the Office for Sacred Worship in the Diocese of La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Best wishes to Adoremus as they continue their third decade on the forefront of liturgical renewal!
