ESTERDAY I THOUGHT ABOUT and prayed a lot for our Pope Emeritus, Benedict XVI, on the 65th anniversary of his ordination to the Holy Priesthood. I was especially pleased to see that Pope Francis invited him to the Sala Clementini for a special commemoration the day before, at which time our former Holy Father was treated to wonderful choral music sung by the Sistine Chapel Choir (which has improved in the last couple of years beyond all belief).
However, I couldn’t believe my eyes as I watched Msgr. Palombella directing from what looked like some kind of an iPad or tablet. I have often told my choir members that before I die they will more than likely be singing from music displayed on some form of a tablet (which would make passing out and collecting music so much easier), but I did not think I would see the Capella Sistina blazing the trail!
