OURTESY of John Sonnen’s invaluable blog we see Grégoire-Pierre Cardinal Agagianian—leader of the Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith—with his collaborators at the Second Vatican Council in 1965, including Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen and the future Pope Benedict XVI.
Sheen was involved with the Second Vatican Council, but remained virtually silent about it later on. (He did, however, mention a few things in his autobiography.) With regard to the massive liturgical changes of the 1970s, to my knowledge Sheen never uttered a single word about any of these, which probably means something.
