HE FOLLOWING INTERVIEW ought to be much better known. What is quite interesting is that Cardinal Ratzinger in 2003 hints at the possibility of Summorum Pontificum. It contains many beautiful statements by the saintly Cardinal Ratzinger, a true servant of our Lord and Saviour. Here is one of many: “We are today not another Church as 500 years ago. It is always the same the Church. What is one time holy for the Church is always holy for the Church and is not in [an] other time an impossible thing.”
Cardinal Ratzinger also reveals that he had intended to retire in 1991 so he could pray and write books, but when he saw Pope John Paul II suffering so much, he felt called to continue in his post.
